We partnered with Preventa, a forward-thinking health-tech platform on a mission to detect heart irregularities—like AFib, tachycardia, and bradycardia—before they escalate. By syncing with Apple Health, leveraging AI-driven insights, and integrating a live chatbot that interprets your daily metrics, Preventa empowers users to catch potential heart issues early, take action faster, and stay proactive about their well-being.
Goal
Our main objective was to create a comprehensive platform that seamlessly connects with Apple Health, analyzes real-time heart data through AI, and delivers clear, actionable insights to users. By combining a user-friendly chatbot with robust data security and compliance measures, we aimed to simplify the complexities of heart monitoring, ensure early detection of potential issues, and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their health—all within a single, intuitive experience.
Challenges & solutions
In these screens, Preventa puts your vital stats front and center, yet keeps the interface refreshingly uncluttered. Users can see their heart rate, overall health score, and even a quick review from a trusted medical professional—all at a glance. By pairing real-time data with friendly, human-centered visuals, Preventa turns potentially intimidating numbers into insights that feel both approachable and actionable.
To deliver accurate, up-to-the-minute heart data, we needed a way to pull updates from Apple HealthKit without causing constant battery drain or bombarding users with alerts.
We built a Node.js backend that syncs with Apple Health in near-real-time. By optimizing data requests and caching, we minimized battery impact and kept notifications purposeful, not spammy.
Because Preventa processes personal health data, airtight security and adherence to global regulations (HIPAA, GDPR) were non-negotiable.
We implemented end-to-end encryption and followed best practices for data storage, ensuring every user’s heart information remains private and compliant.
Numbers alone don’t help users. We needed an AI engine that could detect anomalies like AFib or tachycardia and translate them into meaningful health advice.
Using Python-based machine learning models, we detect patterns and provide real-time tips—like suggesting a rest period or prompting users to contact a medical professional.
The final shot zooms in on the AI Health Coach and Preventa’s brand identity. We designed the chat to feel like a personal health guide, offering daily step reminders, checking for irregular heart patterns, and even suggesting lifestyle tweaks—all informed by your actual data. The clean, modern iconography ties everything together, reflecting Preventa’s commitment to making advanced health tech accessible, reliable, and undeniably user-friendly.
Building a next-generation health app meant tackling a few key hurdles right out of the gate. We needed real-time syncing with Apple Health that wouldn’t overwhelm users—or their batteries—with nonstop notifications. Translating raw heart-rate data into actionable insights posed another challenge: how do we surface the most critical information without drowning users in numbers? And throughout it all, airtight security was non-negotiable, ensuring that sensitive health data stayed private and fully compliant.
